Goldfield Ghost Town

In the 1890s, Goldfield boasted three saloons, a boarding house, general store, blacksmith shop, brewery, meat market and a schoolhouse. But when the vein faulted and the grade of ore dropped, the town died a slow, painful death. Today, travelers from all over the world still visit this gold mining town located on the historic Apache Trail. Explore the shops, historic buildings, and the museum which has a collection of artifacts, maps and pottery from the mountains and surrounding area. Enjoy your choice of an underground, guided mine tour or a ride on the superstition Scenic Railroad, Arizona’s only narrow gauge train. Top the evening off with a chuck wagon style steak dinner on the patio of the Mammoth Steak House and Saloon while enjoying fantastic views of the Superstition Mountains.
