The first ever CWR Academy Regional Day will be held Monday, June 13 at The Center at Mariandale in Ossining, New York. CWR members and other communicators from the east coast and elsewhere are invited to join us for a day of learning, professional development and networking. Our speakers and panelists will deliver presentations addressing some of the key issues currently facing communicators who work on behalf of women religious!
The Regional Day will be keynoted by a trio of speakers: Dan Bullock; Raúl Sánchez; and Rod Sánchez, who will present “Connecting Globally: Communicating Powerfully Across Cultures”. Also on the agenda are a remote presentation from Fr. James Martin and facilitated dialogue on topics of importance of communicators.
The CWR Academy Regional Day has been developed to provide additional educational opportunities for CWR members and others in accordance with CWR’s 2020-2022 strategic plan. The Regional Day supplements existing CWR educational offerings, including the CWR Annual Conference, CWR Academy webinars and CWR Flash Conversations.

KEYNOTE: DAN BULLOCK | RAÚL SÁNCHEZ | ROD SÁNCHEZ
Dan Bullock and Raúl Sánchez are the co-authors of How to Communicate Effectively with Anyone, Anywhere: Your Passport to Connecting Globally, which was illustrated by Rod Sánchez. Dan is a language and communications specialist/trainer at the United Nations Secretariat, training diplomats and global UN staff. He also serves as faculty teaching business communication, linguistics, and public relations within the Division of Programs in Business at New York University’s School of Professional Studies. Raúl is an award-winning clinical assistant professor and the corporate program coordinator at the NYU’s School of Professional Studies. Rod is an award-winning visual communication designer, artist, and filmmaker. He is a lead user experience/user interface designer at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and has designed and illustrated book covers for Penguin Random House and Scholastic. VENUE
The Center at Mariandale welcomes nonprofit groups and organizations for day or overnight workshops, retreats, and conferences. The center also sponsors retreats and programs in numerous areas, including spirituality, contemplative practices, social and environmental justice, interfaith dialogue, the arts, wellness of body, mind, and spirit, and many more. Guests enjoy the quiet, serene environment at the center.
The Center at Mariandale is just 30 miles north of New York City in Ossining, NY, in the lower Hudson Valley. The center is a 50-minute Metro North train ride from Grand Central to the Croton-Harmon train station, and then a 5-minute taxi ride from the station. Taxis are always available.
The Center at Mariandale is a sponsored ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Hope.
