Dear CWR Friends:
In the interest of keeping you informed, the Communicators for Women Religious Board of Directors shares highlights of our monthly meetings. The Board met in person at the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites in Indianapolis, Indiana on Monday, Oct. 3.
Jennifer Kaminski opened the meeting, sharing a prayer with the members.
Board Chair Eileen Dickerson asked the Board to vote on the proposed slate of Board officers for 2017: Chair, Sister Angela Szczawinska, Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth; Vice Chair, Kathy Gatliff, Sisters of Saint Francis; and Treasurer, Sister Beth Kress, Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The motion was approved unanimously by the Board members present.
The Board reviewed Conference Committee 2016 Chair Kathy Gatliff’s comprehensive conference schedule. Coordinator Susan Oxley reported that there were 146 attendees registered for the conference. Board members’ questions were answered and plans were finalized. Eileen reminded the Board that attendee evaluations would be reviewed at the Nov. 15 videoconference.
All Board members expressed their enthusiasm for the conference and for interacting with colleagues and friends, for the always-informative conference speakers and workshop presenters and for the evening social activities.
