Elizabeth Murphy, OP
Communication Specialist
Dominican Sisters of Springfield
A large family, an affinity for the prairie landscapes of central Illinois, and the charism of the Order of Preachers are among the most formative influences in Sr. Beth’s life. Decades spent in service of church institutions has convinced Sr. Beth of the wisdom of a contemplative approach to life. The ministry that has marked Sr. Beth most deeply is two-fold: accompanying Iraqi refugees and the Iraqi Dominican Family through the ordeal of the failed U.S. policy in Iraq and being deeply formed by an effort to become an accomplice of persons of color in the effort to dismantle racism.
