Be Inspired: Meet Our Sisters
In celebration of National Vocation Awareness Week, The Catholic Sisters of Illinois invite you to be inspired by their lives and ministries through this year’s Meet Our Sisters Tour.
Sisters continue to serve and have an inspirational impact in Illinois and around the world after almost two centuries of their presence in Illinois. That’s the message of the Illinois-based Meet Our Sisters Tour kicking off during National Vocation Awareness Week, Nov. 5-11, 2023.
This Fifth annual Meet Our Sisters Tour is the brainchild of the Chicago regional group of Communicators for Women Religious, communicators and other professionals who support the ministry of Catholic Sisters.
The tour starts here: Below you will find links to participating congregations’ websites and to details about in-person and virtual events. At each congregation’s website you will also find:
- discernment resources
- inspirational stories and videos about the impact of Catholic Sisters on education, healthcare, and the social and spiritual lives of Individuals and communities in Illinois and around the world.
Want to help spread the word? You don’t have to be in Illinois, or to be participating in the tour to use the opportunity to spread some love for friends of Catholic Sisters. National Vocation Awareness Week, sponsored by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations, promotes awareness of the many ways God calls women and men into a life of commitment to the Gospel. Consecrated life—the umbrella term that includes women and men who profess vows of obedience, consecrated celibacy, and poverty—is one expression of the call of every baptized Christian. This week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States occurs annually during the first full week of November. NVAW is dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education. NVAW also emphasizes a renewal of our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.
