The CWR Board of Directors met via videoconference on July 27. In the interest of keeping members informed, we present highlights from that meeting:

Gina Sullivan led an opening reflection on Psalm 23.

Vice Chair Siobhan O’Neill Meluso informed the Board that she would be departing her position with the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago to accept a new position and, as a result, would be resigning from the Board and CWR effective July 31. Board members thanked Siobhan for her many contributions during her time on the Board.

Conference 2023 Committee Co-Chair Laurie Lindauer joined the meeting as a guest to report on conference preparations. Laurie invited Board members to volunteer to fill support roles during the conference, which will be held October 10–13 in St. Louis.

Board Chair Kim Westerman informed the Board that CWR’s annual grant report to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation had been submitted at the end of June and thanked fellow executive team members Siobhan O’Neill Meluso, Tammy Townsend Denny, and Allison Lucci for their assistance in finalizing the report.

Kim also provided an update on the nomination process for the 2024 Board and outlined plans for an in-person Board gathering at October’s conference.

In her role as Membership Committee Co-chair, Siobhan reported on plans for recognition of CWR member milestones at the conference.

Director of Membership and Communication Brian Lavelle noted that 118 attendees participated in the June 28 webinar held in collaboration with Archivists for Congregations of Women Religious (ACWR), Breaking Down Silos: Archivists and Communicators Sharing the Story of Women Religious.

No Board meeting is scheduled for August. The Board will next meet on September 28 via videoconference.
