CWR CONFERENCE 2026
CAELIE HAINES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Harboring Hope
We are pleased to offer two Caelie Haines Scholarships for the 2026 conference in Baltimore (October 13–16, 2026). Each scholarship will cover conference registration fees.
We invite members of our community to apply if financial assistance would make attendance possible. We also encourage you to share these scholarship opportunities with any international sisters or colleagues you know who are engaged in the ministries of communications, vocations, and/or justice and may be interested in attending the conference. In addition to those living or working overseas, communicators from abroad who are currently serving in the U.S. are also welcome to apply.
Applicants must be CWR members in good standing. If you are not currently a member, you may join here (https://c4wr.org/member-sign-up/) before completing the application process. Only one application per congregation will be accepted. Recent scholarship recipients are asked to wait two conferences before applying again so others may have the opportunity to receive support. Applicants who were not awarded a scholarship are welcome to reapply.
The scholarship is open to all CWR members, and applications will be accepted through June 30, 2026.
All applicants must submit:
- Letter of Recommendation (500 words or less.) The letter should come from the applicant’s supervisor or leadership and address:
- Describe the applicant’s role, responsibilities, and professional contributions;
- Briefly explain the financial need for scholarship assistance.
- Essay (500 words or less): Please describe why you wish to attend the conference and how the experience will benefit you personally and professionally. If you are actively involved in CWR, please also share your current involvement.
The scholarship recipients will receive a complimentary full conference registration. No reimbursement for any other expenses will be provided.
Applications must be received by June 30, 2026. The scholarship applications are anonymously reviewed and scored by the CWR Membership Committee, with the determination approved by the CWR Steering Committee.
Awardees will be notified by July 20, 2026, prior to the early-bird registration discount cutoff of July 30, 2026. Scholarship recipients are not obligated to reveal that they have received a scholarship and are not required to perform promotional or any other work in exchange for receiving a scholarship.

The CWR scholarship program was renamed in honor of Caelie Haines after she passed away in the summer of 2023. In addition to serving as a CWR Board member, 2024 Conference Co-Chair, and Director of Communications for the School Sisters of Notre Dame Atlantic-Midwest Province, Caelie was also an enthusiastic advocate for the conference. Katie was always an avid reader, playwright, and author. Katie had a love for Broadway shows and all things Harry Potter, Star Wars, Emergency and Dr. Who! Caelie was a good friend to all and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
