Mission Advancement as an Act of Justice

Kathryn Yanik is the Director of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation for the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur (East-West Province). She studied English and Theology at Georgetown University and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Masters of Arts in Theology in 2018. Kathryn has nine years of experience in parish and diocesan ministry. In 2021, she co-founded the Catholic Civil Dialogue Initiative in collaboration with the McGrath Institute at the University of Notre Dame. She has carried this civil dialogue work forward to collaborate with sisters, associates, and lay staff in developing civil dialogue processes that also integrate Catholic spirituality and the charism of women religious.

In her spare time, Kathryn teaches courses in Catholic Social Teaching for the African Sisters Education Collaborative at Marywood University and for the deacon candidates in the Archdiocese of Washington. And in her actual spare time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and reading with her husband and two daughters.
