Mission Advancement as an Act of Justice
Mikaela VanMoorleghem is the President of Communicators for Women Religious (CWR) and serves as the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Notre Dame Sisters, Omaha Province. With more than two decades of experience in nonprofit communications, marketing, and strategic planning, she is committed to helping mission-driven organizations amplify their impact and tell their stories with clarity and purpose.
Over the past year, Mikaela has been engaged in the work of civil dialogue, collaborating with a colleague from the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur to create opportunities for respectful conversation, deeper listening, and meaningful engagement across differences. In a time when many people feel divided or unheard, she believes this work is both timely and needed. She continues to expand these efforts through speaking engagements in Omaha and is actively working to bring civil dialogue into high schools, colleges, and community settings.
Mikaela holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management from the University of Nebraska–Omaha and a bachelor’s degree in English and Education from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She is inspired by working alongside passionate individuals dedicated to making the world a better place.
In 2011, Mikaela was recognized as a Suburban Under 40 Award winner, honoring young leaders who are making a lasting impact through leadership, volunteerism, and community engagement. She remains passionate about continuing her work in civil dialogue and helping others build bridges through conversation, understanding, and shared humanity.
