An Invitation to Former NACAR Members

Communicators for Women Religious (CWR) was named one of two legacy partners for the North American Conference of Associates and Religious (NACAR) after the well-discerned and difficult decision was made to dissolve NACAR. As an organization, we are grateful for the opportunity to assume this role alongside the Leadership Collaborative, which also serves as a NACAR legacy partner.

CWR is open to all who serve as a voice for women religious. Our members include those in leadership, mission advancement, justice, and vocations. We believe charism carriers, including associates, co-members, and affiliates, increasingly need to collaborate and that effective communication will be important in the transformative years ahead.

Informed by joint listening sessions for NACAR members held in the fall of 2022 during which we learned about those members’ needs, hopes, and concerns, we extend a warm welcome to any former NACAR member looking for a professional “home” among colleagues who understand the life and work of women religious. Our network and educational offerings would be most beneficial to those who minister in association leadership roles or to associates involved with external outreach.

Through March 31, 2023, we are offering a discounted introductory CWR membership rate of $100 for a one-year membership. (For comparison, membership rates are typically $325-$375).

Within CWR, we offer Resource Groups to help members connect around a shared topic. We plan to host the first Associate Resource Group meeting via Zoom on Thursday, April 6. As a member, you can help form this group and develop its use of CWR’s digital space for meetings, online chat, and webinars to address the unique needs of your roles.

CWR’s annual conference is open to non-members, and we invite associates and associate directors to join us in St. Louis in 2023.
