The CWR Board of Directors met via videoconference on Thursday, July 28. In the interest of keeping members informed, we present highlights from that meeting:
Julie Ferraro was appointed to the Board of Directors to fill the seat left open following Elena Miranda’s recent departure from the Board.
The Board approved the adoption of Juneteenth as a CWR staff holiday. The addition of the Juneteenth holiday reflects CWR’s commitment—in alignment with its members and member congregations—to the cause of social justice.
CWR Executive Director Ginny Hizer noted that approximately 200 hundred participants attended the July 13 webinar on social media presented by CWR in collaboration with the International Union of Superiors General. Ginny also informed the Board of the recent launch of CWR’s Executive Director Resource Group.
Both Ginny and CWR Business Operations Manager Michelle Izguerra reported on their trip to the national meeting of Asociación de Hermanas Latinas Misioneras en América, which was held June 29-July 3 in San Antonio.
In advance of September’s CWR conference in Cincinnati, Michelle Izguerra and CWR Communication and Membership Manager Brian Lavelle are holding a series of preparatory meetings with conference presenters.
The July meeting closed with the regular review of action items identified during the prior Board meeting.
The Board next meets on Thursday, August 25.
