The CWR Board of Directors met via videoconference on Thursday, December 10. In the interest of keeping members informed, we present highlights from that meeting:

Vice Chair Jane Strittmatter led the opening prayer, which included an excerpt from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians – the New Testament reading for the Third Sunday of Advent (1 Thessalonians 5:16-24) – as found in The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language.

The Board approved a motion to form a task group to review CWR membership structures and also approved plans to make the Meet Our Sisters Tour originated by the CWR Chicago Regional Group available as an online resource package.

Executive Director Ginny Hizer updated the Board on CWR’s collaboration with the International Union of Superiors General. Ginny also noted that, beginning in 2021, new CWR members will be provided with complimentary copies of Communicating the Mission Globally: Communications Manual for Institutes of Women Religious.

Patricia Lenihan, RSC, shared plans for the rescheduled CWR Ireland conference, which was originally slated to be held in April 2020. The conference will now be held over two online sessions on February 20 and March 20, 2021.

Former Board members Beth Kress, PBVM, and Eileen Dickerson will join Chair Joanne Gallagher, CSJ, on the CWR Nominating Committee for 2021.

The Board thanked Jennifer Brandlon, whose Board term concludes at the end of 2021, and Cecilia Rupell, who will step down as Board Chair at the end of the year (but remain on the Board), for their service.
