The CWR Board of Directors met via videoconference on Thursday, July 15. In the interest of keeping members informed, we present highlights from that gathering:

CWR Executive Director Ginny Hizer led the opening prayer, which included a reflection on Hebrews 12:14-15.

Board Vice Chair Kim Westerman informed the Board that changes to six CWR bylaw articles were approved via the online member vote that concluded on July 13.

In her Executive Director’s report, Ginny Hizer noted that CWR hosted four virtual offerings in June and July: three CWR Academy webinars and the Membership Committee’s inaugural New Member Mixer.

Treasurer Jean Merry addressed upcoming budget planning. CWR committee chairs are asked to submit 2022 budget requests by mid-September.

Board Chair Jane Strittmatter, who also chairs the Conference Scholarship Committee, updated Board members on the scholarship program. The scholarship application period closes July 31, after which the committee will conduct its review and selection process.

Education Committee Chair Rob Cogswell reported that the next CWR Academy webinar is scheduled for August 26. The webinar will be presented by member Marcia Wallander and will focus on direct mail fundraising campaigns.

In her role as Conference 2021 Planning Committee Chair, Kim Westerman noted a surge in conference registrations in the days leading up to the July 15 early registration deadline.

The Board next meets – again via video conference – on Thursday, August 12.
