The CWR Board of Directors met via videoconference on Thursday, February 24. In the interest of keeping members informed, we present highlights from that meeting:

The Board voted to approve the revised 2022 Board of Directors Handbook and a new Board member position description.

The Board also voted to approve Sara Marks’s proposal to facilitate the Board’s strategic planning process. The Board will report on its progress and present a new strategic plan for member review at the annual meeting at September’s CWR conference in Cincinnati.

The Board made plans for continued outreach to members about opportunities to join CWR committees.

CWR Executive Director Ginny Hizer updated the Board on preparations for Catholic Sisters Week and on CWR’s ongoing new member initiative. Ginny also provided the Board with a review of staff roles and responsibilities

Business Operations Manager Michelle Izguerra reported on her trip to the recent Religious Conference Management Association conference and on initial outreach to prospective hosts for the 2023 and 2024 CWR conferences.

Deena Swank delivered a report on the first meeting of CWR’s Certificate Program Task Group, which was held one day before the Board meeting.

Regional and Resource Groups Committee Chair Beth Murphy, OP, updated the Board on the development of online tools that will highlight the functions of regional and resource groups and their value to CWR members.

The Board next meets March 24 via videoconference.
