The CWR Board of Directors met via videoconference on Thursday, May 13. In the interest of keeping members informed, we present highlights from that meeting:

The meeting opened with CWR Executive Director Ginny Hizer’s reflections on James 1:2-4 and 2 Chronicles 20:15-17.

The Board reviewed, revised and accepted changes to CWR Bylaws and Policies and Procedures presented by Vice Chair Kim Westerman. Bylaw changes will next be put before CWR members for an approval vote.

In her Executive Director’s report, Ginny Hizer provided updates on the formation of CWR resource groups and potential collaborations with other Catholic professional organizations.

The Board approved new policies and procedures for CWR’s investments proposed by Treasurer Jean Merry.

Sr. Linda Romey outlined plans for Catholic Sisters Week 2022. Again next year, Catholic Sisters Week will focus on a key issue (as was the case for this year’s campaign, which was centered on the fight against food insecurity) while also encouraging participants to host events and pursue initiatives unrelated to that issue if they choose.

In her role as Conference 2021 Committee Chair, Kim Westerman reported on plans for evening activities at October’s conference in Memphis.

Education Committee Chair Rob Cogswell detailed plans for upcoming virtual educational offerings, including a June 17 webinar on optimizing both story and design in communication projects.

The Board next meets – again via video conference – on Thursday, June 10.
