The CWR Board of Directors met via videoconference on Thursday, August 25. In the interest of keeping members informed, we present highlights from that meeting:

Alison Lucci opened the meeting by leading the Board in The Migrant Christ Prayer.

Treasurer Tammy Townsend Denny informed the Board that CWR had received its annual Conrad N. Hilton Foundation grant disbursement.

Newly appointed Board member Julie Ferraro was welcomed to her first Board meeting. Julie, who serves as Co-Chair of the CWR Education Committee, updated the Board on plans for upcoming virtual educational offerings.

Chair Kim Westerman reported that Veronica Brown had departed the Board after taking a new position.

Executive Director Ginny Hizer informed the Board of an increase in the number of sponsors and exhibitors participating in the upcoming CWR conference in comparison to recent past conferences.

CWR Conference 2022 Planning Committee Co-Chair Erin Reder joined the Board meeting as a guest to report on conference preparations. Erin’s report included updates on conference speakers, the conference outing to the American Sign Museum and COVID precautions.

Sr. Beth Murphy outlined plans to promote participation in CWR regional and resource groups at this year’s conference.

The Board also reviewed the agenda for its next meeting, which will be held in person on September 27 in Cincinnati just prior to the start of the CWR conference.
