Siobhan O’Neill Meluso was appointed to the CWR Board of Directors at the Board’s April meeting.
“CWR has meant the world to me since becoming a communicator for the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago three and a half years ago,” Siobhan said. “I have learned so many skills and best practices in my career and have been fortunate enough to apply them to my personal life balance too. I am honored to give back to the members and organization by serving on the Board. I am also very touched and grateful for the appointment and I look forward to growing the organization and seeing everyone in person soon in the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll: Memphis, for the 2021 Conference!”
In addition to serving as her congregation’s communications coordinator, Siobhan chairs the CWR Chicago Regional Group, which each of the last two years has raised awareness of the presence of Catholic sisters in the Chicago area through the Meet Our Sisters Tour. Siobhan is also a member of CWR’s Catholic Sisters Week Task Group, Membership Committee and Regional and Resources Groups Committee. At the 2020 CWR Conference, Siobhan delivered a presentation (Called to Communication: the Art of Storytelling) during the Spirituality of Communications session.
“I am pleased to announce that in accordance with the Bylaws of the Communicators for Women Religious, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to appoint Siobhan O’Neill Meluso to complete the term of Cecilia Rupell, who resigned in January 2021,” said CWR Board Chair Jane Strittmatter. “Siobhan has demonstrated enthusiasm, creativity, and insight in her service on the CWR Membership Committee and the CWR Chicago Regional Group initiatives. These attributes promise to make her board service productive and rewarding. We thank Siobhan for sharing her time and talent to prosper our organization.”
CWR bylaws provide the option of appointing a replacement to fill a vacancy created by a mid-term departure. Siobhan will attend her first Board meeting next month.
